Abstract: Margaret Mitchell and Charlotte Bronte are both remarkable female writers in the modern literary history of the world. Their representative works Gone with the Wind and Jane Eyre separately portray two self-reliant heroines Scarlett O’Hara and Jane Eyre. This paper aims to analyze and discuss the two heroines’ outstanding attributes of pursuing independent personality and life through the feminist theory.

摘要: 玛格丽特·米歇尔和夏洛特·勃朗特同为近现代伟大的女性作家。她们的代表作《飘》和《简·爱》分别塑造了两位自强自立的女主人公斯嘉丽·欧哈拉和简·爱。本文旨在用女性主义的理论观点分析和探讨这两位卓尔不群的女主人公身上体现出的争取人格和生存独立的优秀品质。
