摘要：实验教学是伴随着理科教学而诞生和发展的, 世界各国有不同的传统和模式。相对来说,西方工业发达国家比较重视实验教学。但是, 传统的实验教学实验主要用于验证和说明课本上的知识,学生上的是“烹饪课”式的实验课。新课改要求素质教育，培养学生创新能力是素质教育的一项重要内容。刘炳升教授长期以来坚持不懈地努力从理论和实践两方面研究中学物理实验教学问题，对中学物理课程改革和物理教师教育产生了积极的影响。本文以突出验证性实验的探究思想为例，初步研究刘炳昇物理实验思想，通过刘教授研究的几个典型实验案例分析，探讨搞好中学探究实验教学的方法与途径。总结得到刘教授在这方面实验教育思想的精髓以及重要的现实意义，通过研究刘炳升教授物理实验教学思想，探讨成为物理实验教育家的要素，并在此基础上总结出创造性教学对教师的基本要求，以及中学教师在提高自身创新教学能力上可以做的努力，从而对我国的实验教学和创新型人才的培养给出一些启示。
