Abstract:Dream of Red Mansion by Cao Xueqin is one of the most brilliant realistic novels in Chinese literature. Under the background of four prominent families of Jia, Wang, Shi, Xue, it describes the tragic love story of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu. It speaks highly of women while show the tragedies of women at the same time. Pride and Prejudice is the representative work of Jane Austen, a British novelist. It also describes the romantic story of young men and young women, but it is a humorous, interesting and comic work. The two novels are different in style but similar in the theme—love, especially in describing the heroines. The thesis focuses on the research of the two heroines: Lin Daiyu and Elizabeth. Both of the heroines are gifted charming persons who struggle against the tradition in the society, but their fates are totally different. Through the analysis of their backgrounds, their characteristics, their values of love, the thesis intends to find more concise and deeper reasons.

摘 要:曹雪芹的《红楼梦》是我国古代小说中最杰出的现实主义作品之一。它以贾、史、王、薛四大家族的兴衰为背景，描绘了贾宝玉和林黛玉的爱情悲剧。真实而艺术地反映了我国封建社会走向衰亡的历史趋势。它既是女性的颂歌,也是女性的悲剧。《傲慢与偏见》是简·奥斯丁的代表作，它以男女青年的恋爱婚姻为题材,故事饶有趣味,通篇充满着机智与幽默,是简·奥斯丁最富于喜剧色彩, 也最引人入胜的一部作品。虽然这两部小说风格各异，但由于他们所描写的都是婚姻爱情，特别是作品对女主人公：林黛玉和伊丽莎白的描写很有特色和研究价值。这两位女主人公都是率性真诚，才华横溢且敢于和社会不公正面作斗争的女性，但爱情结局乃至生命结局却完全不同，本文尝试通过分析她们的生活背景、性格、爱情追求等方面找到一定具体的、深层的原因
