Abstract:  Pride and Prejudice, a novel written by Jane Austen in 1813, is well-known throughout the world. The novel’s plot, characters and the writing technique of irony are full of comedy. As for the plot, there are four different marriages which reflect Jane Austen’s comedy, her views about every marriage, and her attitude towards the value of ideal marriage. Jane Austen creates some lively and amusing characters, who are full of the color of comedy. The adoption of irony in her language also reflects her comedy.This paper aims to analyze why she puts the sense of comedy in Pride and Prejudice from the angles of Jane’s family background and the social background

摘要：《傲慢与偏见》是简奥斯丁于1813年写的一本在全世界都被广泛流传的小说。小说的结构，人物个性，以及写作手法中的讽刺，充满了喜剧性色彩。小说的四段婚姻，体现了奥斯丁的喜剧色彩及其对完美婚姻的态度。在小说的人物塑造上，作者刻画了一些生动，滑稽的人物形象。语言中讽刺手法的运用，也体现了作者的喜剧性色彩。本文拟通过作者家庭及所处的社会背景 进行分析，来更好的解读《傲慢与偏见》的喜剧性。
