Abstract:With the rapid development of society, education, especially family education, is absolutely important. Family education, which is the first time for the children to receive education and the longest one in their lives, plays an essential role in cultivating children. Since different culture conceives different family education, it is necessary to understand the differences of different peoples and states. Understanding the differences can not only lead parents to form the correct family education views, but also contribute to explore the better family education methods.
As a representative of western countries, American family education is a typical example. While China, the country with the five-thousand-year history, has always placed much emphasis on education since ancient times. The formation of family education existed in early times of China, and has developed a lot in practice. However, Chinese family education still has a lot of problems, because Chinese parents believe in scores, and ignore the development of other fields. So it is profoundly significant for the whole country to compare the difference between China and America on family education in order to improve the quality of Chinese family education.
