Abstract:Alice Walker was a famous African-American female writer and oneof the most important representative figures among American black female images. As a black woman writer, she strongly thought that black women lived in a special situation, so that she wrote The Color Purple and formed her influential thought of Womanism. The Color Purple was a typical post-colonial womanist novel, in which Walker showed her great love and special attention to the national culture. It was the attachment to and identity of the national culture that made the womanists in The Color Purple converted the various suppression of the white cultural hegemony and walked out of oppression.
