ABSTRACT

Generosity is a typical work that reflected people’s desire from ecology in many respects. The author Powers shows the essence of desire to people in his works. The desire also exists in ecological thought, and the desire has been fully embodied.   This work takes the form of monographic study, to analyze the desire from the perspective of people to people, people to society, and people to environment. Above all, few people study on this field from China to western countries, thus it can enrich the theory of eco-critics and let more people know Powers’ ecological thought. Moreover, this paper has been finished by finding all relevant references, analyzing literature, making the overall research design and summarizing viewpoints. The results demonstrated that the brief exploration on desire enriched the theory of desire and made a deeper analysis on figure from different perspective of ways.
