Abstract
This thesis mainly focuses on the study of liberal feminism embodied in the Canadian novel Anne of Green Gables written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Based on the corresponding research domain of liberal feminism, it discusses rights of women to education, to speech, to imagination as well as emotions in the novel of Anne of Green Gables. Providing a thorough consideration in the above four respects, the thesis tries to bring a new critical outlook to this work.
