Abstract:With the rapid development of information technology, multimedia has been widely applied into modern foreign language teaching. Based on Krashen’s ‘input hypothesis’, the paper conducts a survey of multimedia application in English teaching in No. 1 Middle School in Longyang district from three main aspects: the effectiveness of multimedia-assisted English teaching; factors affecting the effectiveness of multimedia-assisted English teaching; and teachers’ opinion about multimedia-assisted English teaching. The survey finds that the multimedia-assisted English teaching is effective in improving teaching quality, attracting students’ attention and arousing students’ interests, but not effective in improving knowledge understanding and promoting communication between teachers and students. The paper also analyzes the main factors affecting the effectiveness of multimedia-assisted English teaching based on three major aspects. They are students’ learning, teacher’s teaching and courseware. A summary of the opinion of teachers about multimedia-assisted English teaching is given in the paper, and some suggestions of improving the effectiveness of multimedia-assisted English teaching are made based on two aspects: teachers themselves and courseware.

摘要:随着信息技术的快速发展,多媒体已经被广泛应用到现代外语教学中。本文以 Krashen 的“输入假设”为理论依据,对隆阳区第一中学高一年级多媒体辅助英语教学运用的情况进行了调查与研究,分析了多媒体辅助英语教学的效果,影响多媒体辅助英语教学效果的因素,以及教师对多媒体英语教学的看法。其调查显示多媒体辅助英语教学能够提高教学质量,吸引学生的注意力,激发学生的学习兴趣,但在促进知识的理解与掌握,促进师生交流方面效果甚微。本文还从学生的学习,教师的讲授和教师的课件三方面分析了影响多媒体辅助英语教学效果的主要原因,总结了教师对多媒体辅助英语教学的看法,并从教师本身及课件两方面提出了一些关于教师如何提高多媒体辅助英语教学效果的建议。
