Abstract
Group work teaching method as a sort of curriculum revolution is an inevitable requirement of modern educational development and is an effective way of implementing quality-oriented education. It aims at students’ cooperating with their group members in a heterogeneous group to achieve their common goals and the reward is given according to the performance of the whole group, furthermore, it promotes students’ formation of their cognitive and affective attitudes.
Being affected by the teaching method of group cooperative learning of Shuang Qing Middle School, the writer wants to do some researches based on the value and significance, ways of implementation, ways of evaluation and monitoring in the process of group work teaching. Meanwhile, the writer hopes to find the shortcomings of group work teaching and tries to find some effective ways or strategies to improve the effect of it.
This paper develops from the perspective of China’s current situation of English teaching in junior school, using classroom observation, deep interviews and questionnaire researches as the method, the writer chooses 2 different classes in Grade 7 of Shuang Qing Middle School as the research objects to observe their lessons. The writer wants to figure out the methods of implementing group work teaching, the influence to the students and some shortcomings such as group members’ weak team awareness, some students chattering when others discussing and so on. And the writer tries to give some advice.
