Abstract
Charlotte Bronte, a representative writer of English critical realism in the 19th century, wrote the masterpiece Jane Eyre, which depicts a story of an orphan who had been maltreated since she was a little girl. Nevertheless, not only did she never give up fighting against the fate, but also succeeded in being independent and self-respecting. She successfully creates a new woman image, Jane Eyre, who dares to struggle against the unfair fate and purchase happiness, freedom and love.
The paper aims to study about Feminism reflected in Jane Eyre. It begins with an introduction to the author and the character in order to make a deep analysis of the oppression on women and the actions taken by them. The paper analyzes in three aspects: the forming background of Feminism, a series of rebellion by Jane and Bertha, and finally feminist thoughts of tough women requesting an independent self consciousness.
