Abstract: Film title translation plays an important role in attracting audience. A catchy, short, easy-to-pronounce title in coordination with a good film may intrigue the curiosity, imagination and interest of audience, while a dry and commonplace one will discourage them from further inspection. So the film title translation should be adapted to the public taste. In light of this situation, the paper, starting with the analysis of functions of film title, On the basis of previous research，combining with some specific correct or wrong cases, and taking functional approach as theoretical base, puts forward two methods concerning the translation of film title. The first part of this text provides some background of title translation, and points out the present situation of it, and then elaborates the differences between good an bad translation, then finally put forward some personal suggestions on the translation of movie titles.
