Abstract:The translation of English films requires the translator to refine and reprocess the original text, that is, to keep the style of the original film, but also to try to be concise and easy to read, so that the audience can better appreciate the English films. In order to reduce the errors in the translation process and help the audience to better appreciate and learn foreign films, this paper takes Kung Fu Panda 3 as the research subject. And it introduces the functional translation theory and some other translation strategy, and combines the theory and strategy of film Kung Fu Panda 3 of some translation examples are analyzed.  It can be found in these instances that the subtitle translation is the translation which has the widest audience population from different education background and with different language habits. Therefore the subtitle translators should not only consider the meaning of the source language, but also combines with the language culture of audience, and then put them in the most acceptable way to express it.
