摘要:在人类语言中，颜色词具有独特的魅力。不同文化，颜色词具有不同语义。本文对比分析两种语言中颜色词“红”的语义差异，利用相关的翻译策略和方法，结合文化、历史、社会生产、生活等背景知识，对颜色词“红”的内涵意义和外延意义展开研究，不但包括了解词的指代意义，还涉及其所代表的文化意义。颜色词“红”广泛应用于我们的日常生活与交际，除了其基本的颜色意义，在中国文化中“红”这一词语还被赋予了丰富的文化内涵。本文以英语中的“Red”和汉语中的“红色”为例，来浅析这一对颜色词语文化内涵的异同。本文将首先进行“红”的中英翻译对比举例，其后将分析汉语中和英语中“红”的本义和意义的发展情况，并分析它一系列衍生意义产生的文化根源。
