Abstract:With the rapid development of China’s foreign trade, the demand for Business English graduates is increasing in the talent market. Many universities and colleges have also added new major of business English. Present business English curriculum in most universities and colleges includes: the basics of Commerce-based intensive reading, extensive reading; spoken Business English and Business English negotiation; written correspondences for foreign exchange-based, business English writing and training proficiency-based translation of Business English. But most business English majors can’t meet the requirements of the company when at work after graduation. This situation reflects that the business English graduates lack the actual business communicative capability. At present, classroom teaching ignores the students’ communicative capability training and students themselves lack practical application in and out of school. Based on this situation, this paper stands in the student's point of view and positions, taking about 200 business English majors from Xuzhou as respondents in the practical survey. After the survey, through making an analysis of the result, the paper draws the following conclusions: teachers should improve the efficiency of classroom teaching, and the universities and colleges should establish a new teaching evaluation system. Besides this, business English majors need to increase learning motivation, make a reasonable study plan and take part in extra-curricula activities as often as possible. There are four chapters in the paper. Chapter One is the introduction to the present situation of the business communicative capability of business English majors and the former study results. Chapter Two lists problems of business majors in communicative capability training. Chapter Three puts forward how to train business communicative capability of business English majors. Chapter Four is the conclusion.
