Abstract：Pragmatic failure is inevitable in international communication. Different languages have different pragmatic constraints; pragmatic failures can cause misunderstanding and even business failures. Therefore, understanding the culture and the differences between English and Chinese can reduce misunderstandings and promote the normal communication. Thereby, international business activities can be processed successfully. 

This paper illuminates  what is pragmatic failure and its impact on business communication by providing some real cases. In the final section it concludes with personal recommendations on the methods to avoid pragmatic failures. These would help the business partners to have pleasure cooperation which would enable the achievement of a common business goal.

中文摘要:国际商务社交中语用失误是不可避免的现象，因为不同的语言有着不同的语用制约，但是语用的失误会造成商务交流中的误解,甚至错失商机。因此，了解英汉语用知识差异能减少误解、促进交际的正常进行,从而成功地进行国际商务活动。

　　本文首先说明何谓语用失误,其在商务交际中的影响,给予实例,最后终结全文,得出结论和给予个人意见,如何避免语用失误,使双方在国际商务交流中合作愉悦,达到共同心愿.
