Abstract:As a member of WTO (World Trade Organization), China has taken part in international business coorporation. Of course, China plays an increasingly important role in today’s international trade. With the further development of our country’s reform and opening-up, there will be more opportunities. According to the author the quality of business translation is the most important factor, for it is the cornerstone of other factors.The translation of business is a complicated process in which the translation of Chinese four-character phrases is needed. Otherwise the quality of translation will be badly affected. In the research paper, three main methods of Chinese four-character phrases translation will be introduced, which are widely used in our practical business. These three methods are: according to the aim of the speaker, by business modeling-letter words, and structure analysis in advertisement. In addition, five ways of translating Chinese four-character phrases are discussed by giving sufficient examples: according to their context, basing their composing structure, set expressions, adding some words and knowing some expressions in spoken English.

摘  要:中国是世界贸易组织的成员国之一。中国积极参与国际竞争与合作，并且在国家商务中发挥着重要的作用。随着我国改革和对外开放的深入，我们将迎来更多的机遇和挑战，西南省份也将参与到各种国际贸易中。外贸英语翻译的好坏是最为重要的环节，因为它是其他一切外贸活动的基石。商务翻译是一个复杂的过程，在这个过程中，汉语四字词的翻译是不可少的，它直接影响到翻译质量的好坏。在论文中，首先引出三种在商务翻译中应用得最广泛的四字词译法即：根据说话者的意图来译四字词；应用商务程式化信函语言来译四字词；在商务广告中用结构分析译四字词。基于这三种译法，和大量的例子分析总结出了五种商务四字词译法即根据上下文来译四字词；根据其组成结构来译四字词；记住四字词的一些习惯表达方式；加入词语来译四字词；知道口语英语四子词的表达方式。
