ABSTRACT:The notion of American Dream was first put forward in 1931 by James Truslow Adams in Epic of America. He said, “The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.”

The paper aims to compare the New American Dream and the Old American Dream. In other words, it aims to compare the policies put forward by Donald Trump and Barack Obama. Finally America’s future will be analyzed. It is the reference for China as well. The paper is to look for the differences between the New American Dream and the Old American Dream. What’s more, it is seeking the main causes of the emergence of the New American Dream.

This paper will refer to several speeches delivered by Donald Trump and Barack Obama. Their actions will be compared. The policies being continuously made by Donald Trump will be focused on. There are mainly two findings according to the paper: (1) Confronted with the current condition where the rate of support of Donald Trump is declining, he is, however, involved in the crisis of faith. In order to convince the public, he should do more things to show he is reliable. (2) As for both capitalist countries and socialist countries, if they want to be better developed, they should attach importance to the need of their people.
