Abstract:Ways of communications are divided into two parts: verbal language and non-verbal language. According to some experts’ researches abroad, non-verbal language is also called body language, which accounts for 60 per cent in our daily communication and plays an important role in our daily life. 

　　　Different body languages manifest different meanings to us, even in different cities in the same country, there are still various meanings, let alone in different countries. Since our country has a good relationship with America now, we should learn more about the meaning of their body language in their daily life in order to avoid misunderstanding in our communication. 

　　　This paper mainly talks about the embodiments of body language: postures, gestures, facial expressions, and distance; and it talks about the applications of body language from three aspects: researches, TV programs, and basketball games in American daily life. From that, we can understand their body language and help us to communicate with them more easily.

中文摘要：沟通交流方式被分为两大部分：语言交流和非语言交流。根据一些国外专家的研究：非语言交流也被称为肢体语言，它占据了我们日常生活交流的百分之六十，而且在我们日常生活中扮演着十分重要的角色。

　　　不同的身体语言给我们展示了不同的意思，既是在同一国家的不同城市都有这各种各样的意思，更不用说在不同国家所代表的意思。现在我们国家和美国有着十分友好的关系，我们更应该学习了解他们日常生活中肢体语言所代表的意思，同时也为了能够避免在交流中所产生的误解。

　　　本文主要谈论了身体语言在美国日常生活中的表现形式及其意思，像身体姿势、手势、脸部表情和身体距离，也谈论了身体语言在研究、电视剧、篮球比赛三方面的运用。从中，我们可以更好更容易地理解他们的身体语言，和他们交流起来也容易得多。
