Abstract: At present, many domestic and foreign scholars analyze and research Tom’s characters, it emphasizes that the excessive kindness and obedience are not your will. And, these characters have probably a positive role in the development of American’s slavery and the transition of the religious faith. According to the problem, the paper analyzes the different characters of Uncle Tom from the following several aspects. In the first place, the starting point is social and political background at that time. By analyzing numerous examples the distinctive characters of Uncle Tom; Meanwhile, the paper emphatically exalt Uncle Tom’s the excellent quality of goodness, loyalty, honesty, simplicity, submission and obedience. Studying the characters of Uncle Tom from different sides, it emphases the distinctive characters will lead to the different outcomes of fate. In the second place, the different characters of Tom have an effect on American’s slavery and Christian’s faith respectively. In the last place, concluding the entire article. By analyzing Uncle Tom’s characters, it is good for us to grasp the importance of development between characters and American’s slavery, between characters and Christian’s faith.
