ABSTRACT
Chinese American literature is the product of the interaction between Chinese culture and American culture. The study of Chinese American literature is a positive reaction to its development.
Over the past hundred-odd years, Chinese American literature has developed from being ignored to being concerned, from being marginalized to entering the mainstream. It is a tortuous and stirring process. In this process, a lot of excellent writers emerged. The works of these Chinese American writers, such as Frank Chin, Maxine Hong Kingston and Amy Tan, have made an irreplaceable contributions to the development of Chinese American literature. Chinese American writers have their unique life experiences and cultural environments, thus their works present distinctive visions and writing characteristics.

It will first give a brief introduction on Chinese American literature, and then it will introduce several Chinese American writers whose works have great effects on Chinese American literature.
