Abstract:Language is a comprehensive system, mysterious and vast. Under its mysterious appearance, there is infinite beauty that is to explore. It is all-embracing and has various characteristics. On different occasions, we use the different language style to achieve the best expression effect. Humour language as an important part of it, it has been loved by people. In our daily dialogue, the application of humour is very common, and has vital research significance for English linguistics. Similarly, pragmatics has a profound influence on humour language. This article will start from a pragmatic perspective, and combine relevant English daily dialogue humour examples to interpret humour, to explore the relationship between pragmatics and humour, and the positive effects it has made. This will help people to understand more about English humour and to learn use it in life.
