ABSTRACT:As a key communicative tool for human being, English is always in the change. After it has been widely used, the emergence of its modification is beyond all doubt. In recent years, China grows quickly in various aspects. To communicate with foreign friends smoothly is the indispensable factor for China’s development. At the same time, with the expansion of Internet and mass media, the appearance of different kinds of neo-vocab with Chinese characteristics is well-reasoned. But it is a big problem for C-E translation that the neo-vocab with Chinese characteristics cannot find their equivalents in the western culture. The thesis concentrates on the current situation of neo-vocab with Chinese characteristics and its translation in political, economic, cultural and social areas. It is urgent and necessary to translate the neo-vocab with Chinese characteristics timely and accurately to develop Chinese characteristic culture effectively, to achieve cross-cultural communication and foreign publicity.

摘要:英语作为人类的重要交际工具，总是处于不断的变化中。通过其频繁接触，必然引起变异。中国是一个日益壮大的国家，近年来各方面发展迅速。跟外国友人良好的交流沟通是中国发展成功必不可少的因素。这时，伴随着网络的推广以及大众传媒的普及，各式各样具有中国特色新词的出现就顺理成章了。但在西方文化中，这些具有中国特色的新词找不到对等词汇而成为汉英翻译中的一大难题。本题重在研究近年中国在政治、经济、文化、社会生活方面出现的具有中国特色的新词现状、产生原因及其英译。及时而又准确地向世界译出具有中国特色的新词对宣传和弘扬中国特色文化、有效实现跨文化交际以及对外宣传具有迫切性、必要性和重要性。

The emergence of neo-vocab with Chinese characteristics is closely related with all aspects of our social life, and thus the dissemination of Chinese culture should be paid attention to during the translation of those words. Because of sedimentary of historical culture in language environment and life experience of language users, it’s rather hard to apply abundant association which is derived from the use of language and transplants it into another language vividly. It requires the translator not only to deeply understand the emotional and associative meaning of the original context from semantic and cultural aspects, but also to grasp the unique cultural modes and life styles of original context in the pragmatic culture level accurately. Meanwhile, we should make every endeavor to cultivate ourselves, to keep up with the pace of the rapid development of the era and learn more about newly-emerged cultural knowledge. Only in this way can much more cultural information be loaded into the C-E translation and make greater contribution to the foreign interaction.
