Abstract:As we all know, Patton and Liguan are undoubtedly the famous generals in the military history. General Liguang of the Han Dynasty in China and General George Patton of the United States during the World War II have a similar character as well as personality and simultaneously a similar fate, which constitutes a mirror image relationship. [1]Patton and Li Guang are both born from upper class and have unassuming character. They treat their soldiers as their own sons but with high disciplines, continually all strive to train their troops to the highest standard of excellence. As a result, both of them make great achievements in military field but unfortunately have a dramatic life. Literati and artists pay unlimited interest and attention to them all the time. In the United States, "Patton" movies make a hit, while since ancient times, Liguang is hardly given due glory with so much sympathy. Moreover, their deaths are not common. With comparison between personalities and the fate, we can have a better understanding that just according to the mirror image relationship, personality makes key contributions to the development of fate to some extent. Thus we can deeply understand the nature of literature.
