Abstract：With the development of sports career and the increasing international sports exchanges nowadays, sports have become an indispensable part of our daily life, so the translation of sports terms has great practical and theoretical significance in today’ society. It also plays an important role in our study of sports operation and cultural communication. 

The following essay is going to give a brief discussion of the translation methods of sports terms based on the Skopos theory. In most of the translation theories, only the Skopos theory pays more attention to the relationship between source text and target text, putting much emphasis on content than form. It is hoped that this paper could provide some reference for the further study of sports terms translation
