Abstract: Film title translation is a significant and creative job. Due to differences between Chinese and westerners in language systems and cultural background, as well as film’s own functional requirements, it is impossible for translators to follow “faithfulness”. So we introduce a new concept -“creative treason” into film title translation. This paper analyzes the necessity of using “creative treason” through paper research and further discusses how to use “creative treason” for a translator in film title translation.

摘要：电影片名翻译是一项重要而极富创造力的工作。由于中西方在语言文化上的差异，以及电影本身的功能需要，电影片名很难遵循传统的“忠实”原则。所以我们在电影片名翻译过程中引入了“创造性叛逆”这一全新的概念。本文通过文本分析，研究在电影片名翻译中运用“创造性叛逆”的必然性，进一步探讨译者该如何进行“创造性叛逆”。
