Abstract: Through the analysis of the classification, the features and the significant meanings of the horror elements in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the fundamental purpose of the horror elements are drawn out in this article. This article contains three parts: part one analyzes the horror elements in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, including the horror movements, the horror images and the horror sensations. Part two figures out the features of the uses of horror elements through analyzing the horror elements employed in this novel. Part three analyzes how the author reveals the beauty of the humanity and the world through showing the conflicts and creating the inner side suspense.

摘要：本论文通过对《哈利波特与魔法石》中存在的恐怖性元素的分类，特征以及在儿童文学中的重要性，对在儿童文学中出现恐怖元素的根本目的进行分析。本论文分为三部分。第一部分把存在于《哈利波特与魔法石》一书中的恐怖性描述按恐怖的源体分成三类：恐怖性行为、恐怖性意象、恐怖性感觉。第二部分通过前文对《哈利波特与魔法石》中恐怖元素的分类，总结出《哈利波特与魔法石》中恐怖性元素描述的特征。第三部分分析在《哈利波特与魔法石》一书中，作者如何通过制造冲突和内部悬疑，来达到宣扬人性和世界之美的目的。
