Abstract：Sound change is one of the important aspects of language variation, which is very common both in English and Chinese . From the perspective of linguistic typology, English and Chinese belong to two different language families respectively, and accordingly their phonetic systems differ from each other greatly. however, sound changes existing in these two languages take on considerable similarities and loose correspondence. This paper , to begin with, make a comparison of sound changes in the flow of speech between English and Chinese, and then analyzes the reasons and features of sound changes. Last of all, some directions are suggested on phonetics learning and teaching.

中文摘要：音变是语言变化的一个重要方面。音变在英语和汉语中也同样普遍存在，虽然就语言类型而言，英语和汉语分属不同的语言系统，而且就其语音系统而言，两者也大相径庭，但是，这两种语言的音变现象却存在大量相似之处或松散的对应关系。本文开始就英汉语在语流中的音变进行全面对比，并分析音变发生的原因及特征。最后，说明音变研究对我们学习英语的启示。
