ABSTRACT:William Wordsworth is a great English Romantic poet. Some scholars think that he is the greatest poet after Shakespeare and Milton. Wordsworth created many famous poems in his life, and “The Solitary Reaper” is a prime example. In this poem, the author describes a Highland girl who is reaping and singing in the field. In this thesis, I’d like to analyze the different themes in this poem, in order to learn Wordsworth’s opinions about nature, society and women.

摘要:威廉.华兹华斯是英国伟大的浪漫主义诗人，一些学者甚至认为他是继莎士比亚和弥尔顿之后英国最伟大的诗人。华兹华斯一生创作了大量不朽的诗作。《孤独的割麦女》便是其中较为出名的一篇。诗中描写了一位英格兰女子独自一人在田野上一边收割麦子一边歌唱的景象，本文通过对这首诗的不同主题的分析，了解华兹华斯对自然，社会以及妇女的不同思考。
