Abstract: The frequent use of apology strategies in the global arena since the beginning of the 1990s has turned the speech act into a common device for image restoration. Public figures can benefit in contemporary politics of trust from apology strategies. The aim of this paper is to examine how public figures use apology strategies to minimize their responsibility for misdeeds. Apology presents a potentially infinite variety of strategies. The thesis points out a few of the more commonly occurring strategies to study.

摘要：20世纪90年代初道歉策略在国际舞台上频繁的出现，现已演变为一种普遍的用于形象重塑的语言行为。公众人物可以通过道歉策略的使用获得当时的政治信任。本文的目的是研究公众人物如何使用道歉策略来最小化自己对于一些不良行为的责任。道歉策略有无数种，笔者在本文中列出一些常用策略进行研究。
