Abstract: With the rapid development of science and technology, the whole world is becoming a global village. In the process of globalization, more and more people from different political, economical and cultural background are brought together and have gradually realized the importance of intercultural communication. The movie GuaSha, a comedy produced in the 90s of the 20th century, vividly exhibits the conflicts and intercourse between traditional Chinese culture and Western culture. This paper will describe the conflicts between Chinese culture and Western culture on the basis of the vivid plots which reflect the cultural conflicts in the movie GuaSha, and analyzes the causes which lead to the cultural conflicts of the understanding of scrapping treatment, the attitude towards friendship and the methods to educate children accordingly from perspectives of the mode of thinking, law awareness and value orientation.

摘要：随着科学技术地不断发展，越来越多来的自不同政治、经济、文化背景的人们走到一起,人们也逐渐意识到跨文化交际的重要性。电影《刮痧》是20 世纪90 年代的中国优秀喜剧片的代表，该影片生动地展示了中美传统文化的冲突与融合。本文将以影片《刮痧》中反映的中美文化冲突的生动情节为基础，分别从中美两国的思维模式、法律观以及价值观的角度分析造成中美两国对待刮痧疗法、朋友观以及管教孩子方式的冲突的原因。
