Abstract:News is an important way for people to get information. In modern times news reports become more useful because they make it possible for people to get information from all over the world. However, the same news event will be displayed in different ways in different countries with different cultural background and it really makes people confused. Therefore, it is necessary to know the reasons of the phenomenon and how factors affect news reporting. 

　　　This paper aims at offering a brief but systematic analysis on the phenomenon. The paper applies experiential approach to compare specific news reports in Chinese and English newspapers and has found some cultural factors reflected in the news reports, such as state system, mainstream value and foreign policy. We hope this paper can help people realize the differences so that they can avoid being misled when they get information from newspaper in other countries. Also, we hope the paper can remind all countries of protecting their legal informational sovereignty.

摘要:随着全球化趋势的不断深化，大众获取信息的渠道不再局限于国内，更延伸到全世界各个国家的新闻媒体。但是由于文化背景的不同，对同一事情的报道在不同国家有不一样的呈现，这使人们在获取信息时感到十分困惑。由于新闻报道对于塑造国家形象有重要作用，因此在政治领域影响重大。因此，十分有必要找出报道出现差异的原因及其如何影响新闻报道。

　　　本文针对此现象进行了实证性研究，通过对新闻报道的数据统计和具体内容的对比，对中文报道和英文报道之间的差异进行了全面解读，并找出了造成这种差异的文化因素，如国家体制、主流思想和对外政策等。希望通过本文帮助人们理性获取信息，也希望能号召各国都能切实保护自身的信息主权。
