Abstract：Gentlemen culture is an impressive national characteristic which distinguishes people in England from those of other countries, and Junzi ideology is deeply rooted in Chinese culture. They respectively have great influence on many aspects of English and Chinese society. This paper attempts to probe into their influence on education. Based on reading historical material and works on gentleman culture and Junzi ideology, a comparative study is made on gentleman education and Junzi education. In this study, similarities and differences between gentleman education and Junzi education are analyzed from the perspective of purpose of education, content of education and teaching methods. Based on the analysis and problems existing in modern education in China, suggestions are proposed to promote the development of Chinese modern education.

中文摘要：绅士文化作为一种鲜明的国民性格将英国与其他国家区别开来，而君子理念也是深深地根植于中国文化中。它们分别对英国和中国社会的很多方面产生了极大的影响。本论文旨在探究绅士文化和君子理念对英国和中国教育的影响。通过阅读研究关于绅士文化和君子理念的历史文献和著作，本文对绅士教育和君子教育进行了对比研究，分析了它们在教育目的、教育内容和教育方法等方面的相同之处和不同之处。根据文中的对比分析以及中国现代教育中存在的部分问题，为中国现代教育的发展提出了建议。
