Abstract:Heathcliff is the most typical character in the Wuthering Heights. His unfair fate, betrayed love, hate the practical society result in his revenge. At first he just a naive boy with some wild nature. After he was betrayed by his lover Catherine, he left for years. The practical society let he believe that he must have so much money that he can get his happiness. He became more and more evil. He always wants to destroy the relationship of Catherine and her husband. He even revenged the generation of Catherine and her brother. But he still loves Catherine deeply, and when he finds Catherine’s daughter fall in love with Hindley’s son. The love awoke his love to Catherine, and he is moved. At last, he gives up the revenge. On the other hand，his love is full of romanticism.
