Abstract:Domestication and foreignization have been a hot topic of discussion for many years. But no agreement has been reached about which strategy should be used in translation. In recent years, foreignization has become a trend in the translation of English proverbs. However, through examination of factors that influence the strategies of translation and analysis of examples, the author concludes: the type of text, the purpose of translation and the readership influence the choice of strategy; foreignization should not be unduly emphasized and domestication should be given the same attention.

摘要:归化和异化多年以来一直是讨论的热点问题，但是关于具体的翻译策略问题却并没有达成一致。近些年，异化翻译已成为英语谚语的翻译的主流。然而，经过仔细分析影响翻译策略的因素及案例分析，笔者得出，影响翻译策略选择的因素有：文体类型，翻译目的，读者个人因素。因此，不能过度强调异化，忽视归化，归化理应得到更多的重视。
