Abstract: Marriage custom is an important part of culture. By researching on marriage customs, people can have a good understanding of history all over the world from the aspects of clothing, food, shelter, and transportation, which will increase their own interests in learning Chinese and western history and also help to improve the English level and widen their sight. In this paper, the author will conclude the cultural differences by comparing and studying the following aspects, such as wedding locations, wedding ceremony, wedding dresses and colors. Furthermore, the author will try to excavate the causes of the differences from the surface and the deep aspects.

摘要：婚俗是文化风俗的重要组成部分。通过研究婚俗，人们可以从衣，食，住，行等诸多方面对古今中外的历史及文化背景及差异有所了解，从而加强人们对中西方历史的学习，达到提高英语水平和开阔视野的目的。笔者将先试着从婚礼举行地点，婚礼仪式，婚礼服饰，色调等几个方面对古今中外的婚俗进行粗浅的比较、研究，从而归纳出不同婚俗背后所折射出的文化差异，再从表面和深层挖掘造成此种文化差异的原因。
