Abstract: Numbers occupies much in Chinese and English idioms and has many cultural connotations. This paper focuses on the translation of numerals in the numeral idioms in terms of cultural differences. Affected by cultural differences in national psychology, religious belief, language worship, in the process of translating, translators must take all those into consideration. On the basis of cultural differences, three principles need to be complied with. Probing into the most appropriate method of translating is the key point of this paper. Through specific analysis of cultural differences, this paper summarizes three principles of translation and four methods of translation.

摘要：数字在英汉习语中占据了大部分，并且有许多文化内涵。本文重在从文化差异角度探究数字习语中数字的翻译，由于受不同民族心理，宗教信仰，语言习惯的影响，在翻译不同文化背景下的数字习语时，应充分考虑这些因素，从而在此基础上，遵循数字习语的翻译原则。找寻最恰当的翻译方法是本文的重点。通过对文化差异的详细分析，本文归纳了三种翻译原则和四种翻译方法。
