Abstract:The major concern of my graduating paper is on the characterization of Huck in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The paper will try to analyze the adventures that Huck experiences, and to explore his strong personality and the artistic skills employed on his characterization. 

　　　The paper will analyze the characterization of Huck from two aspects ：one aspect is the characteristics of Huck —independence, adventurism, intelligence and sympathy；another aspect is two main artistic skills— humor and local colorism used on the characterization of Huck. Through the description of the social background and the adventures of Huck, Mark Twain presents a portrait of a typical American boy who is imbued with a strong local flavor. As the narrator of the novel, Huck observes the society in his unique way, and makes the readers think deeply about the reality of the society at that time. Twain used some means of artistic skills like humor and local colorism on the characterization of Huck. While reading the work, readers are deeply impressed by Huck’s characteristics of independence, adventurism, intelligence and sympathy.

摘要:本文的关注点是通过对《哈克贝利·芬历险记》中哈克贝利·芬这一主要人物的一系列历险经历的描述和分析，总结哈克独特的个性特征以及其作家在人物塑造过程中所采用的艺术手法。

　　　本论文将围绕下列两大方面具体展开：(一) 哈克独特的个性特征：独立、冒险精神、聪慧和富有同情心；(二) 人物塑造中作者运用的艺术手法：幽默和本土色彩。通过对哈克的社会背景及经历的描写，马克·吐温把一个有着独特美国乡土气息的男孩的形象展现在我们面前。作为故事叙述者，哈克以自己的独特视角观察社会，让读者深刻思考当时社会的现实境况。作者还将幽默和本土色彩等艺术手法用于哈克的人物塑造，让读者在阅读故事的同时对哈克独立、充满冒险精神、聪慧和富有同情心的个性特征留下深刻的印象。
