Abstract:The Chinese nation is particularly fond of the color of red. As a cultural token and mental adherence of Chinese people, the Chinese cultural connotation it implies is abundant. Chinese history is a history of red, and it bears lots of people’s memories. In Chinese traditional culture, red is a token of good things with a peculiar extent of its significance. In the respects of its historical background, social attributes and national psychology, large numbers of examples are enumerated in the study of the cultural connotation of Chinese “red”, through the descriptions of its origin, thus emphasizing its use in the categories of the society and the influences it has on people’s mentality. From innovative angles, this thesis probes more deeply into the cultural connotation of it, so as to allow the readers to have a more comprehensive cognition of Chinese “red”, and then to realize its tremendous cultural value.

摘要:中华民族尤为钟爱红色，红色作为中国人的文化图腾和精神皈依，其蕴含的中国文化内涵极其丰富。中国的历史是一部红色的历史，承载了国人太多的红色记忆。在中国的传统文化中，红色是美好事物的象征，具有特殊的延伸意义。本论文主要联系历史背景、社会属性和民族心理这三个方面，从红色的来源以及重点在红色在社会各范畴的应用和对人们造成的心理影响方面逐一展开，对中国红色的文化内涵进行更深层次的探讨，使读者对中国红色的文化能有一个更全面、深入的认知，从而体会其潜藏的巨大文化价值。
