Abstract：Joseph Conrad (1857-1924) is one of the greatest writers in the history of English literature in the late 19th century and early 20th century. In all of his works, Lord Jim is known as a landmark, showing his artistic pursuit. Conrad integrates deep moral implications into the novel with delicate psychological descriptions and unique narrative. 

　　　So far, both domestic and foreign scholars have mainly studied Lord Jim from such perspectives as post-colonialism and ecologism. This thesis is going to interpret the novel from ecofeminist perspective, principally revealing the ecofeminist consciousness in the novel. 

　　　This thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter One presents a brief survey of the life and writings of Conrad and an introduction to Lord Jim and previous studies about this novel at home and abroad. Chapter Two gives a general introduction to ecofeminism as a theoretical basis. It shows the development and major theories of ecofeminism. Moreover, it also illustrates the purpose and significance of this thesis. Chapter Three is the most important part of this thesis, which makes a textual analysis of the novel from the ecofeminist approach. It explores how women and nature are glorified in the novel and analyzes the relationships between Jim and nature, Jim and woman to point out the ecofeminist consciousness in the novel. Chapter Four is the conclusion which summarizes the thesis and reveals the significance of this study.

摘要：约瑟夫•康拉德是19世纪末20世纪初英国文学史上重要的作家。在他的所有作品中,《吉姆爷》被称作里程碑式的杰作,集中体现了作者的艺术追求和道德探索思想。作者在小说中融入了深刻的道德寓意,细腻的心理描写及独特的叙述手法。

　　　至今,国内外学者对《吉姆爷》的研究多从殖民主义或者生态主义的角度出发.本文将《吉姆爷》置于生态女性主义理论框架中,揭示作品中反映出的生态女性意识。

　　　本论文共分为如下四个部分：第一章简要介绍作者约瑟夫·康拉德的生平及其作品以及小说《吉姆爷》的主要情节，同时也对以往有关这部作品的评论总了总结回顾。第二章主要介绍论文的理论基础——生态女性主义，详细阐述了其发展过程和主要观点，并提到了论文的目的和意义。第三章是本文最重要的一部分，主要通过文本细读，分析小说中对自然和女性的赞美以及吉姆与自然和女性之间的关系，并指出文中所反映出来的生态女性意识。最后一章是在总结全文的基础上论述了本论文的研究意义及重要性。
